I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Pari is kind of like our muse.  On her own blog, she’s taken the intersection between fashion and art to another level by putting her own stunning twist to dressing for the arts.

Pari pairs her style with the exhibition she plans on visiting. Last weekend, we stretched our own rules that narrow down who we babe’out with. Instead of bumping into some art-gawking style maven by chance encounter, Pari and I actually scheduled a rendezvous at the MoMA PS1.

I’m not proud of our code-breaking orchestration but sometimes you gotta bend the law for an opportunity to achieve something exquisite. And in this case, Pari is too ill for the law.

At the heart of the Rose Center for Earth and Space in the American Museum of Natural History is a babe with a crepuscular style that beams like a ray of light. Her name is Tara. During our visit, she tried to sneak into the Planetarium but was unsuccessful because museum guards take their jobs very seriously (and bless their sweet hearts for doing so.) Instead, the closet cosmologist, decked out all in black, let us take some quick pics of her walking along the spiraling pathway that surrounds the astro theater dome.

When Tara’s satisfied her cravings for astrophysics, she’s spends her talents making music and flexing her pipes. She’s one half of Brooklyn electronic-pop duo Soft Lit and also a member of the party fun disco dance ensemble Motion Studies. Her latest jam is called “Ocean King” and it’s just one of the many excellent songs coming out of the kaleidoscopic label GODMODE.

And if you haven’t heard of Motion Studies, then I urge you to correct that deficit and to check them out live on Wed, April 9th at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. (photos by Sam Deitch)

Simplicity always wins.  After a brief tour of the Free Wheel bicycle exhibition at the Holon Design Museum, the sprightly Anaël comes gunnin’ straight for us camera with her perfectly paired getup.  The beautiful bending architecture you see in the background is  a creation by museum designer Ron Arad. Here’s to a sublime start to the Spring. (photo by Sarah Peguine)

In a bland hallway, I saw a wandering pile of flowy confetti. Phyllis was spotted in the foyer of the MoMA PS1. She admitted that her jacket was scooped up at the dollar store and I loved her that much more for it. Good style doesn’t need to come at an exorbitant price. Plus, it’s probably best to save your loot for the museum entrance, anyway.

Charlotte at MoMA's Rain Room

Why does Charlotte appear to be floating on cloud nine? Maybe it’s because we were able to skirt the six-hour wait time to enter the MoMA’s Rain Room. Or is it the satisfaction from crossing the Rain Room off her list of must-see NYC attractions, before returning home to France the next day. Charlotte is a talented artist studying fine art in Strasbourg. (more…)

I went to the Planetarium to space out for a day and what do I stumble into:  a dress rehearsal for an upcoming fashion show. Here Trang takes a breather from her runway drills  to flex some poised glances for the camera. (Photo by Xavier Aaronson)

Sunday at the Met Museum is basically one big obstacle course of feet-dragging tourists. But after spotting a babe in the distance, it makes all the human slaloming worthwhile. Here is New York fashion designer Emilie Ghilaga whose style colors outside the lines of the Upper East Side uniform with a suede vintage Bogner ski jacket, snakeskin leggings and an irreproachable pair of Chucks. You can check out Emilie’s own collection here(Photo by Xavier Aaronson)  (more…)

Thaís Mayumi at São Paulo Biennial of Arts

The rise in Museology degrees should raise the barriers of entry for cute jobless girls – who majored in English and Studio Art – relentlessly trying to wiggle their way into the professional world of art.

Thaís is a museologist from Rio de Janeiro. She’s a pro at all things related to museum design, organization and management. Warning to all aspiring gallery girl types, don’t try to test her or else she’ll squash you with her babe brain.

Out of all the colorful hues featured at this year’s São Paulo Biennial of Arts, Thaís was spotted looking like the perfect temperature.

You know when you smoke a bunch of weed and go by the Between The Still and Moving Image installation at the Whitney Museum and there’s this unexpected beauty just waiting for you to take their photo? That’s pretty much what happened here with Brooke. (photo by @it_smells_dead)

See that girl with the killer tilt, all purp’ed out from head to toe and paired accordingly with a David Benjamin Sherry photograph of similar shade? Yeah, well that’s Anne Sofie. She’s Danish living in London, currently recording her first album and probably gets impossibly cooler with each hangout. Here she is spotted at the Saatchi Gallery in London. The SFMOMA Staff Twins! Ok not really, but they do work at the SFMOMA (Amanda on the left and Laura on the right). Next time you find yourself at the museum’s  information desk or box office, don’t forget to say hello and make them feel internet famous.
